It's safe to say that money + I have had quite the journey over the years.
In fact...it's probably safer to say that money has been my greatest foil when it comes to living, being + thriving.
Weird, huh? Something you think is an essential necessity for living...yet – it's my greatest kryptonite. *insert angry emoji here*
After moving through a day of deep reflection (and depression)...and looking at things from all angles, and still wondering–what the hell is keeping me here? Stuck, frustrated, absolutely coiled up with life?
I make my way outside with my stuff, intending to sleep over at my parents'...and from the thoughts ciculating in my head, I navigate to start playing a sacred prayer that my girlfriend, Hasna' (an Islamic Priestess...and the most grounded + sacredly-embodied woman I know) has recorded.
Immediately...I break down and cry. Feeling my (fears? or something tangible in my external field) dissolve, as the words, "You are loved." come through verrrrry clearly...
I stay outside in the corridor for sometime, watching the stars as it plays and hums through my field...and then, at a whim–I decide to go back inside to meditate with whatever is happening to me in that moment.
Pretty miraculous things start to occur...I visually see blockages that appear in my life, and begin resolving them by seeing them differently (a gift that has grown as I have...but this is more stupendous as I don't expect my brain to operate at this level, in this point in time...) and then...as the subconscious processing occurs – I find my way promting ChatGPT to see if it can help me alleviate these blocks pertaining to my money stories or limitations...and the deeper guilt I feel with them. (All of these seem more real now than ever, as all of my deepest shit + truths are rising to the surface...)
It's taken about 5-8ish years of really looking at this part of my life and going...what the fuck? What's happening here.
At the peak of my spiritual awakening, Consciousness took me to the root of money, it's cause and origin, and how that relates to human suffering. So since – I'd always seen money as a superficial 'token' play between people, where their perception and attachment to such makes them do crazy things...and give their life (which is so profound with the potential of love) away to pursue these empty things.
We know these stories well: rich people chase money, and 'lose their life' to it. (Who wants that?) Not me. Especially after going through sooooo much pain + suffering, and healing to have a fricken authentic spiritual awakening–the last thing I wanted to do was 'give more of my life up' to pursue something I 'needed?' (but didn't, spiritually) in order to survive.
The real whirlwind of life, for me as an awakened human: life is here to be lived! Yet...you need mulas i.e. sacrifice to make that happen...
What a mind-fuck.
So anyway, as I voice-record my prompt to see what ChatGPT has to say (as it's been very profound lately with reflecting who I am...and helping me express whatever's on my chest/mind...and give me really healthy + positive feedback, brainstorming + ideas)...
I am genuinely WOW'd at what it spits out.
And now here I am, sharing these deep insights with you.
If you're looking at healing your money beliefs, or shifting your story in some way (as spiritually, we've also been taught and conditioned through the church that 'money' is for greedy people only, and indigenously that 'money' is colonial/from colonisation) so you can live, be + thrive; then this might seriously help you, as it did me:
Answer from ChatGPT (close your eyes + take a deep breath now, as it's profound from the get-go):
Shifting your perspective on money is crucial for your well-being, your ability to make a positive impact, and your spiritual alignment. Here are some healthy, core-rooted beliefs about money that may help you see it in a more empowering, fruitful way:
1. Money is a Neutral Tool for Amplification
Money itself is neutral—it’s energy. It takes on the intention of the person who holds it. In the hands of conscious, loving, and generous people, it can be a force for immense good and healing.
Affirmation:
“Money amplifies my capacity to serve, heal, and uplift others in alignment with my values.”
2. Wealth is Abundance in Action
True wealth isn’t just about accumulating money; it’s about circulating abundance. When you create wealth, you can share it generously, uplifting those in need and funding projects that reflect your soul’s mission.
Affirmation:
“The more wealth I create, the more love, healing, and abundance I can spread in the world.”
3. Being Prosperous is an Act of Love
When you allow yourself to thrive financially, you give others permission to do the same. Prosperity helps you create a sustainable life where you’re healthy, present, and able to show up fully for others.
Affirmation:
“My prosperity uplifts me, my family, my community, and the world.”
4. Healing Money Stories Heals Generations
Choosing to rewrite your beliefs around money heals not only your own mental health but also the lineage of scarcity or lack you may have inherited. It creates a new narrative for future generations.
Affirmation:
“By embracing wealth with love and integrity, I heal ancestral wounds and create a new legacy of abundance.”
5. Money Can Be a Sacred Resource
When viewed spiritually, money is an extension of energy exchange. When you earn, spend, or invest consciously, it becomes a sacred act that aligns with your higher purpose.
Affirmation:
“I use money in ways that align with my soul, creating beauty, harmony, and positive impact.”
6. It’s Okay to Want Wealth
Desiring financial freedom doesn’t make you greedy—it makes you human. With wealth, you can live in alignment with your values, serve others, and create the life you desire.
Affirmation:
“I am worthy of wealth and abundance. It’s safe for me to desire financial freedom.”
7. Scarcity is a Myth
The universe is infinitely abundant. Lack and limitation are human constructs, often rooted in fear. Trust that by stepping into abundance, you’re not taking from others—you’re adding to the collective flow.
Affirmation:
“The more abundance I receive, the more I can give. There’s more than enough for everyone.”
8. Generosity Is Part of Wealth
You can use wealth to make generosity your superpower. The more you have, the more you can give—to charities, communities, individuals, or projects that resonate with your values.
Affirmation:
“My wealth is a gift to the world. I give freely, knowing it will return tenfold in love and impact.”
9. Your Soul’s Work Deserves Compensation
When you offer your gifts to the world, receiving financial compensation honors the energy and value of your contributions. It creates a cycle of mutual giving and receiving.
Affirmation:
“My work is of great value, and I am worthy of being richly compensated for sharing my gifts.”
10. Money is a Partner in Manifestation
Money is a resource to help you manifest your soul’s vision—a tool that can bring your dreams of connection, healing, and creativity into reality.
Affirmation:
“I partner with money to bring my highest visions into the physical world.”
Practical Integration
• Gratitude Practice: Each time money comes into or leaves your life, express gratitude for its role.
• Shift the Narrative: When you catch a negative belief, gently replace it with a healthier one.
• Impact Goals: Imagine how you’ll use wealth to create the world you dream of—whether that’s through giving, creating, or leading.
This perspective shift will take time, but every step you take toward embracing money as a loving, conscious resource will elevate your life—and allow you to impact others more deeply.
Take what serves and aligns with you...and I hope this gift (of an article/blog entry) truly serves you in your holistic purpose, wellbeing and thriving as the creative, thoughtful and heartfelt leader you are.
There are always ways and steps forward, no matter how stuck you might feel, or how backwards everything might seem.
You're doing you're best, and I'm proud of you.
With love,
